Hurt my credit. Never got my ring.

Go look around at this places reviews. They notoriously postpone shipping time after time after time. Which they did to me as well. I had opened a $18,000 line of credit for this ring. After multiple postpones of delivery dates because of “quality concerns” I finally canceled it. A month later after Knowing I now have a card open with no balance I was going to put something cheap on it to help my credit, they had closed my account. I got a thing in the mail saying basically sorry everyone, we no longer offer lines of credit. So my credit took a hit to open it and got another hit to close it and I was never even able to use it. The person who let me apply online had to have known they were about to close the cards! Why did he let me do it without telling me?! I never would’ve opened the account! Do not use this company. Do your research on them. Pls.

Date of experience is approximate.

Always excellent customer service from Blue Nile. I wouldn't normally order online for fine jewelry but for Blue Nile, they have proven to me over the years -- from my first diamond ring to the everyday / special occasion accessories I purchased in between, and eventually to the maintenance and checkup I needed for my diamond ring -- that they are a very reliable and dependable company. Poorly made ring

My husband bought me a sapphire and diamond white gold band from Blue Nile US to match my engagement and wedding ring. Unfortunately after only about a month of wear I lost two sapphires. I returned it for a repair and they were only able to replace them with smaller sapphires of a different colour. They told me I needed to only wear it occasionally. I didn’t wear it for a long time but the one night I did I lost one of the newly set sapphires. Now it sits in a box because they will not allow me to return it, even though it must of been defective or poorly made. I am beyond disappointed and we will not buy from them again.

Horrible customer service

My boyfriend purchased a diamond necklace for my birthday. He bought it early and gave it to me on birthday. When I tried it, the necklace was too tight and I wanted to exchange it. I explained to the customer representative that my neck is chubbier and I wanted to exchange it for something else that actually fit me. I was a few days after the return policy and she said if I had called one day earlier I would've been able to but since I was late I would have to pay 20% restocking fee. I think it's ridiculous that people spend so much money on this site and this is their customer service. Til this day I have an expensive diamond necklace that's sitting in my drawer that I can never wear.

So this will be quite lengthy

So this will be quite lengthy. Let’s start. Drove about 4 hours to get to the New Hampshire showroom to look at engagement rings. First, they don’t carry diamonds there, so looking at the diamond is done on a tablet so you never get the actual look of what it looks like. I picked the ring out and had it shipped to the showroom so not to ruin the surprise. About 3 weeks went by and I went to pick it up. I was dealing with the manager, but some older woman needed to get involved for some reason. Not only did she talk down to me, she talked down to the manager. Super unprofessional. The prongs holding the diamond were all crooked. Apparently, QC doesn’t exist at Blue Nile. So it delayed my proposal. The return process was less than stellar as they could not guarantee a speedy turnaround. Anyway, got the ring, After our engagement, we went up for the wedding bands as they offered us a discount. Again, the same older woman meddled in this transaction. She insisted my ring was a certain size, so ordered it. Wedding bands came in about a week later. When I went to put my ring on, it slid right off my finger. The older meddling woman, again, needed to put her two cents in. I had enough. I said I wanted my money back for my ring, but apparently this company does not like giving your money back. It needed to be shipped back to the headquarter in Seattle. Ordinarily, I’d understand, but this ring never left the showroom and was in the showroom’s full possession. The company doesn’t trust its employees I guess. 99% of this entire problem was created by the old woman and she really should be terminated from her position. Custer Service is not her forte.

Horrible experience with shipping…

Horrible experience with shipping policy!!!
My wife and I have bought from them before and for some reason now they have implemented some ridiculous shipping policies where they deem an address is either good or bad. I ordered 2 rings from them recently and had it shipped to my business which is my office and I receive important mail and shipments daily and they said they couldn't ship there and it's not like it's some shady business it's a business park with a suite number. They wouldn't ship the order and then I gave them my address where all my bills are sent to which is my ups store address and they couldn't ship there either. I was so pissed off at them I cancelled my order and plan on buying elsewhere. I'm not going to waste my time to drive to your pickup location which would have defeated what online shopping and delivery was meant to be. Get your act together and fire the crew that implemented this new shipping policy!

First time buy

Great buying experience. Website was easy to navigate and find exactly what I wanted. I purchased my husband’s wedding band and had custom engraving done that came out perfect.

Fantastic Company

I had a great experience with Blue Nile. She is obsessed with both her engagement ring and the wedding ring we picked out. The process was really intuitive and easy to build your own engagement ring. With Blue Nile, I know I'm getting a better value for the money than some of these other stores. Clarity, cut, and color are so important and it's nice you can pick out the individual diamond you want.

Q:

I lost one of the Lucille Rollover diamond earrings and want to know if I can buy a single earring to replace the list one.

Answer This Question

Q:

I am looking for a GIA certified diamond ring that appraises for same at local stores. Do they offer real GIA certs here?

A:

Yes, Blue Nile only sells GIA certified diamonds. They generally have more than 250,000 diamonds on the web site. Blue Nile diamonds generally appraise for 30%-50% more than diamonds at local stores.
